I, Q: Independence Hall

By Roland Smith
Rating: 3 3/4 stars

Q, or Quest, is embarking with his mother, new stepfather and stepsister Angela on a tour around the country now that his mom's new band Match has hit it big. Little does Q know, but his new stepsister has a more complicated background than let on. Her mother was an intelligence agent and killed in the line of duty many years ago and Angela secretly wishes to follow in her footsteps. When an old roadie, Boone, joins their tour bus in the middle of nowhere, it seems mysterious but not suspicious. But that rapidly changes when Angela discovers she is being shadowed by someone and that Boone is hardly a harmless old roadie, but instead working as a freelance intelligence agent himself and is attempting to keep Angela safe from possible terrorists. He tells Q and Angela that the terrorists may be after her because maybe, just maybe, there is more to her mother Malak's death than they know. As the tour lands in Philadelphia, Q and Angela must sort through the piles of information and try to decide who are the good guys and who are the bad. And when it comes down to life or death, you better make the right decision. This fast-moving adventure story with more than your usual stock characters will keep spy and James Bond fans happy and waiting for book 2, The White House.
